Week 16 Part B: Building Out Your Strategy

In this week's blog, I will be talking about my rough draft content for next month's postings on all my social media.  When it comes to strategizing, I first think of what are my goals for next month? then how am I going to make that happen and why is it important to make the plan work? And lastly, who am I making my postings for. As for next month's goal, Christmas had just finished which means that parents are not really looking forward to going shopping since they just did a whole lot of shopping for their loved ones. As for the young ones, some parents don't have the time to go shopping or they don't know what their kids want for Christmas so they'll just end up giving them the good old "Christmas cha-ching!" My business can benefit from that since no parent would get this kind of shoe that I market to their kids unless their kids ask for it. This takes care of who my target audience is which are the young adults with their Christmas mone...

Week 4 Part B: Defining YOUR Target Market

In today's blog, I will be sharing a fictitious store that I made last semester from my business class. Collecting shoes has always been a passion of mine ever since I was young. Shoes had a big impact on me growing up, I was a super active kid that ran around every day to play outside with friends whatever the weather was. As you would foresee, as a kid that would play outside a lot, I would go through a lot of shoes. We could not afford to buy new shoes all the time hence I wore mismatched shoes to go out with whatever shoe would work for me. For me, being able to go out and play with friends made me appreciate what shoes meant.
In my fictitious business called "Shoeper Laced" I had to come up with a domain that no one had. As the name suggests, my store is about selling shoes. In this website that I had created using Shopify, I have catalogs of different kinds of shoes that are mainly catered to tweens and teens. Although the market for shoes is broad my target market is for consumers who are between the ages of 15-40 with my focus on teens to build long-term brand and loyalty. If you would like to visit my store you can access it by clicking this link and input the password "bawgan".
Shoes nowadays are based on which has the most "hype" behind it, for example, Jordan 1 has been around since 1985 but is now still reaching its highest peak in sales. My store offers these kinds of shoes that are mostly for Millennials and Generation Z consumers who see sneakers as status symbols. A small amount of Gen X's who grew up with these shoes is also a part of my target audience.
With social media today, shoe brands collaborating with artists produce a lot of money in sales and resale values due to limited production. Shoe brands are evolving to target as many audiences as they can be based on the person they are collaborating with. Social media plays a big role in this. Without the use of social media, these old school 1985 shoes would not reign over the sneakers in this era.
Overall, since I had already made this website I will be using it in this class also to learn more about selling with the power of social media. Big brands today have shown how big of an impact a single post can be when it comes to promoting their products. I am looking forward to how I can further this fictitious store into a store that would be close to an actual business!
