Week 16 Part B: Building Out Your Strategy

Image
In this week's blog, I will be talking about my rough draft content for next month's postings on all my social media.  When it comes to strategizing, I first think of what are my goals for next month? then how am I going to make that happen and why is it important to make the plan work? And lastly, who am I making my postings for. As for next month's goal, Christmas had just finished which means that parents are not really looking forward to going shopping since they just did a whole lot of shopping for their loved ones. As for the young ones, some parents don't have the time to go shopping or they don't know what their kids want for Christmas so they'll just end up giving them the good old "Christmas cha-ching!" My business can benefit from that since no parent would get this kind of shoe that I market to their kids unless their kids ask for it. This takes care of who my target audience is which are the young adults with their Christmas mone...

Week 6 Part A: Engaging Your Customers - FaceBook Strategy

Image
I n this week's blog, I have searched for similar businesses that will help me improve my own fictitious footwear store. I liked pages such as Famous Footwear, Shoe Palace, Nike, Adidas, Puma, Jordan, and Foot Locker. All these pages deal with footwear and clothing with almost identical Facebook page layouts. Two out of the seven pages I liked, their most recent post was about racial equality. Both platforms have huge followers and both are getting a lot of engagements from the public. as for the rest with their usual posts about winter/fall outfits are barely getting any engagements from their followers. What I am getting from this is that whatever store you are running it is also important to keep up with current events as to not boost engagement to build character for your brand as someone who cares and is sympathetic and not just constantly post generic products. The reason I chose to like and follow these businesses is to see how they run their page and how successful they a...

Learning about FaceBook Data Collecting

Image
In this week's blog, I will be talking about the importance of post reach and post engagements and how my fictitious Facebook business page "ShoeperLaced" is doing.  First of all, Facebook has a tool where it lets you view all kinds of statistics such as post reach, post engagements, and many more on your Facebook business site. These two particular tools are a very important tool because it lets you know how your page is doing in terms of how many people are interacting with the page (likes, saves, comments, shares, etc.) and how many people saw any post or content from the page on their feed.  Post reach is an important tool to pay attention to in order to see how your page is doing in terms of visibility. The more people see your brand the more it sticks in their memory which forms into brand loyalty in the future. As for post engagements, This is an efficient way to know which and how many people interacted with what content you have on the page. Having this tool ca...

Week 4 Part B: Defining YOUR Target Market

Image
In today's blog, I will be sharing a fictitious store that I made last semester from my business class. Collecting shoes has always been a passion of mine ever since I was young. Shoes had a big impact on me growing up, I was a super active kid that ran around every day to play outside with friends whatever the weather was. As you would foresee, as a kid that would play outside a lot, I would go through a lot of shoes. We could not afford to buy new shoes all the time hence I wore mismatched shoes to go out with whatever shoe would work for me. For me, being able to go out and play with friends made me appreciate what shoes meant. In my fictitious business called "Shoeper Laced" I had to come up with a domain that no one had. As the name suggests, my store is about selling shoes. In this website that I had created using Shopify, I have catalogs of different kinds of shoes that are mainly catered to tweens and teens. Although the market for shoes is broad my target market ...

Week 4 Part A: Defining Target Markets

Image
F or this blog, I have chosen set one which includes Armstrong Garden Centers and Rancho Vista Nursery websites to compare and identify each company's target market, and basic observations about the demographics and psychographics.  Right off the bat, Armstrong Garden Centers has more interactive elements in its website than Rancho Vista Nursery. Just from looking at Armstrong Garden Centers homepage, you could tell that they have put in a lot of time and effort in making their website while Rancho Vista Nursery website is simple and looks like a small business. Both companies target consumers that are interested in growing plants but have different demographics. Rancho Vista Nursery is more locally-based so they target people that live nearby while Armstrong Garden Centers targets people nationwide since they are a larger chain and can reach out more anywhere in California.  The obvious difference between the two is that Rancho Vista Nursery does not offer online shoppin...

Week 3 Part B: Developing a Brand

Image
I 've never seen myself as a person who runs their own business let alone have their own brand. I've always seen myself as a person who works under someone and presents their brand such as my goal to be a web developer and designer. I had always been fond of looking at a company's brands and how it relates back to them. Making logos and websites is something that I want to be able to create in the future for someone and hopefully inspire the next person who comes upon my work.           Developing a brand is not as easy as it sounds, one would need to conduct their research, define what they are, what components the company needs, strategies needed, and how to analyze and refine their brand. Since I don't have a business to discuss, I will talk about the process I would do to make my own brand. I don't have a business name in mind but I do know that I want to be. A designer.            Firstly, I need to do research...

Week 3 Part A: Aesthetics, Design, and Branding

Image
Atari Best Electronics A t first glance, the "Atari Best Electronics" website is poorly designed. My first thought when I saw the site was "should I have even clicked this link?" the site made me think that it is unsafe and I should probably leave right away.  There is a lot of work that needs to be done on this website especially since they are selling a product. Their site looks unprofessionally done and for many, that would be an indicator that their service will also be the same and steer away. The site needs a better concept, proper alignment, an easier way to navigate, and a better hierarchy. Making improvements on sections I stated above will make the site way better and easier to read in the eyes. Making simple alignments such as adding margins to the page, adding a proper header, and better font choice will drastically improve the site. This will make it easier for the visitors to read and not steer them away from the site right away and actually give the...

K8 Stinger Store https://www.k8stingerstore.com/ This site offers a wide range of products for the 2018+ Kia Stinger model. They also carry products for many other Kia and Hyundai vehicles but on a separate site. K8 Stinger store is an online-based store that provides model-specific upgrades for car enthusiasts. Their main store is located here in California called the K5 Optima store and is a national company that offers free shipping within the 48 Continental United States. They are visibly using Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook with their website links on the platform. Their most used site is Facebook (3,041 followers) that they update daily. The date of the last post for Facebook was 06 September 2021 while their Instagram (2,348 followers) has not had any updates since 30 December 2020. As for their YouTube link, it does not work. I myself own this car and use this store as a basis towards the other stores that sell the same products. Their communication is pretty good since the...

Week 2 Part A: Communication Between Business & Consumer

Image
Businesses now have more options to reach out through consumers, with the ever-evolving social media communication is key in order to have a successful business. Nowadays you can contact a business through any kind of website if they have an account that promotes their business. You can now message them through any 3rd party app such as yelp if you are interested in their services such as asking how much they charge for a particular product/service or just any questions in general. Having social media is beneficial to businesses this way because even if they are not getting customers through their door, they are getting people from their ads and accounts on any of their social media. This also benefits the consumers where if there was something wrong with their service you can reach out to them in so many ways through posting reviews, adding a post to their page, or in-person if you are wanting to get issues resolved faster. I used to work at a waterpark called The W...
